[NEWS] BuzzOne for Google Chrome updated to Beta 4

ATTENTION: THE EXTENSION IS CURRENTLY BROKEN!
AS IT SEEMS, THE LOADED PLUS ONE CODE IN PROFILES IS BUGGY/INCOMPATIBLE.
ROLLBACK, WON'T FIX (for now) Poo.

I'll tell you a story now... About my extension and Google's secret codeimplementation.
Not so long ago, BuzzOne stopped working for unknown reasons on the new profiles.
Turns out: Google has already implemented the +1 source, but isn't using it yet. hehe.

Ok, I modified my extension so that it uses the existing, hidden +1 code that officially doesn't exist.

If you encounter issues, you might still have an older version of the New Profiles, but that should fix itself soon.
The update is currently rolling out worldwide and it should be available in the next couple of minutes/hours!

Changelog:
#UPDATE BETA 4:
Uses now Googles unofficial +1 code hidden in New Profiles
SPEED IMPROVEMENTS! should now be easier on the resources (a little)
Various fixes. Now with 50% more awesome.

get it here if you don't have it yet.

cheers!

[NEWS] Discuss on Buzz Button-Generator for Chrome goes public

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand another one.

With this extension you can easily generate a pretty neat "Discuss on Buzz" button.
You simply right-click on the post-time of a Buzz and select "Generate Discuss on Buzz"
You will also be able to directly launch the extension from the toolbar and manually change the permalink it should refer to.

Copy&Paste the generated HTML code anywhere you want. Preferably there, where it works. In the HTML Tab of your Blogger Post-Editor for example.

This is not extensively tested software and the icon isn't as pretty as others.

Even if it looks like Google's stuff, it is not official Google's stuff. I just imitated the Google-style so it doesn't look like me after a night of coding.
(not like sh*t)

I bet there are a million bugs in there, but I try to patch them. Some time. I don't know when.

Yeah. If the extension nom noms your dinner, that's probably a bug. If it starts insulting you, that's probably a feature.
It might happen that this extension, due to it's messy code, becomes self aware and tries to kill you.

Don't panic. Remain calm and use a sticker to cover the extension in your toolbar.
If it launches nuclear weapons and wants to wipe out humanity, it is always a good idea to Duck&Cover.

Cheers.

Ah... you can get it HERE on the Chrome Webstore
It might take a few minutes until it is live!

[NEWS] ReaderPlus+ for Google Chrome goes public! [PlusOne for Google Reader]

Howdy you... peoples!

Well, (most of) you liked my BuzzOne extension so much, that I thought: Hey, sleeping is so overrated, I could do the fricken same thing for Google Reader! (even if Google will probably introduce +1 for Reader soon and I'll have done the whole thing for nothing)

The only thing that sucks is, that this feedproxy crap currently screws up some of the +1'd posts... so not the real post gets +1, but the redirect-thingy from fricken feedproxy.... (and others like feedburner and that stuff.)

Be assured that I'm currently looking into it, but for now, you can have a look at

What it does:
It adds a plusOne button to Google Reader, so you can plusOne a Blogpost right in Reader.
How it works:
Click the plusOne link to reveal the button.
Why do I have to click twice?
Because of perfomance issues connected to loading the jscripts (try the twitter plusOne and load 100 tweets, you'll see how slow it gets n some systems)
But I want to just click once, because I'm too weak or too lazy to do it twice! -.-
Shut up.

Feel free to request features, but it is highly likely that I don't have the time to integrate you wishes or fix all issues.

If you have coding experience and hints on how to improve performance, please have a look on the code and let me know!

=====CHANGELOG=====

INITIAL RELEASE

--------------------
known issues:

- doesn't resolve URL's that were masked by feedproxy, don't know what this crap is for anyway... Will hopefully find a solution to fix that in the next release
- loads sometimes "not that fast" (it always depends on how clogged your connection is and if reader has finished loading external scripts)
- might not be (almost certainly is not) compatible with themes or other extensions that radically change the structure of reader, but you can test it and report incompatibilities so I can try to fix that
- Jumps to the top of the reader post -> not good, priority 1 to fix!

This is NOT a 100% bullet-proof tested, highly optimized extension. It is an alpha version, so probably unstable and not always that reliable.

SAFETY ADVICE:

Wear your safety goggles at ALL TIMES.
Skin contact: In case of skin contact, wash area with soap and water. Rinse well with water.
Ingestion: If ingested, consult a physician and induce vomiting. If you experience dizziness and nausea, you might turn into a robot unicorn in a matter of hours. This is usually not considered as problematic, because robot unicorns are gentle, noble creatures and awesome.

WARNING:
In 10 out of 2000 cases, pirates may spontaneously appear and rob your booty. Not that one. The other one.

Beware of Spacemonkeys. Especially if they are radioactive, have superpowers and wear eyepatches.

If anything fails, breaks or doesn't work: It was a witch.

So where can I get it?

[NEWS] BuzzOne for Google Chrome goes public! [PlusOne for Google Buzz and Profiles]

Hey humans and ... non humans!

I just wanted to let you know that my latest, finest, first and worst Google Chrome extension has entered public testing.

Don't expect too much. It is crap. And it will probably eat your children.

It might even become self aware and wipe out humanity, who knows?
The safest would probably be, to put it into a potato. But science is fun!
So keep on testing and report bugs.

What it does:
It adds a plusOne button to Google Buzz and Google Profiles, so you can plusOne a buzz.
How it works:
Click the plusOne link to reveal the button.
Why do I have to click twice?
Because of perfomance issues (try the twitter plusOne and load 100 tweets, you'll see how slow it gets)
But I want to just click once, because I'm too weak or too lazy to do it twice! -.-
Shut up.

known issues:

  • Might break switching to buzzer-profiles in gMail (happened to me)
  • Buzzes on New-Profiles still work with a second set of +1 links, will be fixed in the near future -> causes +1 bubbles to show the wrong count.
  • Might cause layout issues.
  • Doesn't properly load if you enter directly a new-profile page and switch to Buzz tab later (happened to me)

I don't take any responsibility if your notebooks melts or spaceninjas abduct your cat because the extension sends messages to outer space.
If drugged monkeys appear, use your oxygen goggles just in case that the atmosphere catches fire.

If anything fails, breaks or doesn't work: It was a witch.
